Soundtrack Saturday: Vampire Academy

Soundtrack Saturday

Hey, everyone! I’ve decided to do another Soundtrack Saturday! This meme is from @TheHardcoverLover. Basically, you pick out songs (at least four) that describe the beginning, characters, relationships, and ending of a book you’ve read in order to create a playlist for that book. This week I decided to create a playlist for Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead (review to come!).

Vampire Academy Playlist

1. Bury Me Face Down by Grandson [Beginning]

I can picture this song playing as Lissa and Rose stride through the Academy Gates with everyone staring at them.

2. Fuckyounoah by Noah Cyrus [Rose]

This fits Rose really well, in my opinion, because Rose was very reckless and kind of a party girl for half the book. She talked on and on about being a heartbreaker. It all just clicked pretty well.

3. Never Be the Same by KHS & Austin Percario [Rose & Dimitri]

Out of the two very obvious romance lines going on in the book, I was definitely more invested in the Rose/Dimitri pairing. I just liked the way it was based on respect for each other and how their relationship seems pretty much impossible for lots of reasons.

4. Boom Clap by Charli XCX [Ending]

This song has the kind of upbeat feeling I expect from the girls both having survived the Academy so far. It makes me think of Lissa and Christian finally making their relationship known and not caring about the consequences, and of Rose and Dimitri having acknowledged their attraction for each other.

4. Psycho by Post Malone [Bonus]

The general vibe of this song makes me think of Lissa and Christian just chilling in the attic of the church, just sitting there in silence enjoying one another’s company or talking about random things just to have an excuse to talk.
