1) City of Bones: 10 Year Anniversary Edition

Don’t be surprised to see that Cassandra Clare makes more than one appearance on this list lol. She’s one of my all-time favorite authors and her books will always be auto-buys for me. I really loved her Shadowhunter World which began with The Mortal Instruments series so it’s no surprise that when the 10 Year Anniversary Edition of City of Bones came out I immediately added it to my collection. It’s a gorgeous book with a stunning cover and beautiful art inside as well.

2) Throne of Glass: Collector’s Editions

Another author that’s an auto-buy for me. This series is one that will always have a special place for me. I really connected with Celaena/Aelin and I loved the journey her character development went through. I loved it so much that when the Collector’s Editions came out I bought both the UK and the US versions.

3) The Dark Artifices: Waterstone’s Edition

Like I said, Cassie’s going to make a few appearances here. I have yet to read this series, but I absolutely knew that I could not miss out on getting these wonderful editions. It breaks my heart to not have the complete set–I only own Lord of Shadows and Queen of Air and Darkness because at the time that Lady Midnight came out I was really tight on money. I’m always on the lookout for a copy of Lady Midnight but it’s so hard to find and the only times I see it pop up are on Ebay when it’s up for a ridiculous amount (like right now there’s a copy up for like $700). I’m not giving up hope on owning it, but it might be a while before I have the whole set.

4) Illumicrate Editions: King of Scars, Strange the Dreamer, Muse of Nightmares

Okay, probably gonna hear it from some people for saying this buuuuut…. I actually canceled my Illumicrate subscription this month. I tried it for a while and although some boxes were nice I just never got to love it like I’d hoped. BUT, if there’s one area where they deserve applause it’s on their special edition books. Holy cow! Their special edition boxes are always so detailed, beautiful, and just so… awesome! That includes their books. It’s why I intend to still get their special edition boxes (sadly, it’ll be harder to do since I know subscribers get first priority and honestly it was the biggest reason I was tempted not to cancel). But moving on from that long rant/rave: I own the Illumicrate Editions of King of Scars (a beautiful gold), and the metallic-edged Strange the Dreamer and Muse of Nightmares. They are some of the most precious gems in my collection and easily some of the most gorgeous books I own.

5) Boxed Sets: The Infernal Devices, The Mortal Instruments

All things start and end with Cassandra Clare it seems, haha! I already own all these books in their original covers, but I found these in perfect condition at a used bookstore and bought them just for those stunning covers/spine art. I did it specifically thinking about how great they’d look on my bookshelves (when I get them) and I totally intend to get the boxed set of The Dark Artifices as well when it comes out! (and I also want the Throne of Glass boxed set for the same reasons pretty much lol).

If you could have a special edition made for any book/series, which would it be?
