As always, I think my list is pretty ambitious lol. I’m really trying to finish series this year, as you can probably tell haha. I just finished Siege and Storm last night actually, so I’ll be moving onto Ruin and Rising soon. Ugh, I’m going to wait for the review to really get into this, but I spent most of the book frustrated with Mal. He’s so moody and an idiot! I just want my ship to be okay *cries internally*.
And because I just finished book 2 in the Grisha trilogy I switched over to the Witchlands series and started Windwitch! Which is pretty exciting because if I get enough read this month I can probably catch up and read Sightwitch and maybe even Bloodwitch very soon.
When I get all that done I’ll be finishing the last book in the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series. I really love Laini Taylor’s writing and I can’t wait to see what her new books are like but I definitely feel like I should finish Dreams of Gods and Monsters before I jump into Strange the Dreamer–which my Buddy Reads group on Goodreads also happens to be reading this month.
I’m also participating in a group buddy read of The Lunar Chronicles on twitter! I’ve only read the first book before. I enjoyed it but I just never moved onto the next book in the series because I got distracted reading other things. I’m hoping I can make some progress this time around!
And then I’m also hoping to get two books read for Addicted to YA on Goodreads: What If It’s Us and Girls of Paper and Fire. I really liked They Both Die at the End from Adam Silvera and I’ve heard great things about Becky Albertalli so hopefully I’ll enjoy this book! And then I was supposed to get to Girls of Paper and Fire at some point last year but I didn’t so I’m going to really try to get to it this time because I looooove the cover and synopsis for this book (I really hope I love it!.
And of course, I have some ARCs that I’m going to try to get done this month too, but I feel like they’re more secondary to me? I’m trying to focus more on reading things I enjoy and feel like reading because I noticed that I’ve been feeling kind of burnt out and I think part of it is that I’ve been too focused on catching up on ARCs. So here’s to hoping I can get lots of reading in this month! Lol, wish me luck!
How do you pick what to read next?
